As the crisp air creeps in amidst the lingering light of early autumn, you may find yourself wondering to which season your attire should appeal. It’s too warm to break out your new fall frocks but summer’s sundresses can’t quite curb the chill.

Fret not, fashionistas. This fall, it’s time to take advantage of these dwindling days of warmth with a mix of no-nonsense and fanciful elements.  Create contrasts that play up the transience of this moment while maintaining composure. Pull out your most whimsical garb but tone it down with tailored pieces in darker shades. Aim for a refined but not restrained look, which you can easily achieve through a few proper accessories or a great coat.

Don’t be afraid of contradictions: embrace them. Diaphanous and feminine, structured and sleek, soft and fluffy—it’s all about texture. Sticking to a simplified palette, such as black and pastels, will allow you to highlight contrasting elements and subtle complements. Plus, you can transition seamlessly from day to night without worry.

As you enjoy the enduring weather, intrigue passerby with unanticipated combinations.
Why wait for spring to sport white leather? Pair it with a dark jacket and you’ll look effortlessly modern and polished.  Bare those legs but don’t forget to bundle-up with a scarf. If you’re feeling flirtatious, jazz it up by adding sequins in unexpected places to catch and reflect the precious rays of light creating a kaleidoscope of soft and bright hues. You’re sure to look and feel exquisite, and, likely, you’ll make a few heads turn.

Be bold and command control. Explore your spontaneity by incorporating various patterns, textures, and proportion while expressing an air of sophistication suitable to the advancing season. Play up contrast, have fun, and keep it candid.
